Outstanding earthen architecture in Europe – Award 2011

Terra [In]cognita, earthen architectures in Europe is a European project financed in the framework of the program “Culture 2007-2013” of the EU and also supported by the French region Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur. One of it’s principal objectives is to sensitize the public to the earth architecture, the earthen heritage and the modern application of earth as a building material. The label “Outstanding earthen architecture in Europe” has been attributed to 42 realizations selected by a 9 member’s jury from 6 different countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, United-Kingdom, and USA). The buildings were referenced under 3 different categories:

- buildings with an archeological, historical or architectural interest

- buildings presenting a remarkable or pertinent intervention (restoration, rehabilitation or extension)

- buildings realized after 1970

In this context the house Bendia – Village Kossovo – Narechenski Bani has obtained the label 2011 under the category “Buildings presenting a remarkable or pertinent intervention”
